The New Class
The new school year is one month in and I have a bunch of new kids that or fresh and ready to trained and taught. One thing I’m quickly learning is that this year’s class versus last year’s class have a totally different dynamic and personality. As a result, I’ve found that my teaching methods have to be adjusted to some degree. Thus the nature of being a teacher! I’m hoping for a great year. But I do admit this year will be a little tougher as the majority of my kids are on the younger side of the curve. I welcome the challenge… I guess. LOL

Graduation
To jump back to March, my previous class had a great graduation ceremony! We had positive feedback from the parents and I’m told the kids watch the video of the event and sing and dance to the songs we performed at home now. I find myself already thinking about what I’m going to do for the the next graduation, albeit a bit early but it remains on the back of my mind.

The classroom and where the kids sit down.

I used this wall for taking pictures and the kids helped to decorate the wall with their graduation badges they helped make.

Short video of the classroom prepped for the graduation. Don’t mind the Nicki Minaj music.

2012年04月20日 The Songs that Make Me Cry

Songs That Hit the Spot
There are two songs that get me worked up emotionally. They always give me a tear:

Thelma Aoyama – 忘れないよ (Wasurenai yo)
Unique (feat. Charice) – Wherever You Are

Not the most well known songs, but we all have our songs that we just love; whether to dance to, relax to, or whatever. Some songs just fit with our life’s story. I’ve found that as I’ve gotten older certain songs hold meaning. Maybe I’m just a sap as I push 30, but I’m sure you can list a few tracks that speak truth and touch you within.

You know when you’re in a moment while a certain song is playing in the background and every time you think back to that moment you can recall that song?….I can’t even listen to Nicki Minaj’s Right Thru Me without remembering some unpleasantness that occurred as it played in the background one night for just that reason. Sometimes a song can be a place holder during some event in your life too… I’m reminded of my trip to Korea and our theme song for the trip being Girls Generation’s Gee. Every time I hear it I think of all the fun we had in Seoul and how it played everywhere we went.

On Another Musical Note
It has also recently come to my attention that I like “noisy” music… Which apparently means I don’t like slow jams. In an effort to prove them (Keisuke) wrong I went down my iTunes playlist aaand… He was right. (−_−#)

I can’t help but enjoy a good dance beat. I grew up listening to pop and hip hop. Just something to get you moving jives with my being. Slow songs are too mellow and relaxed for my liking I guess.

Though it’s not completely true that my playlist is void of slow songs. I do have a few tracks from Jon B and George from back in the day… But I admit I rarely listen to them. I guess I should delete those tracks. ^^
